I was born in New Jersey but moved to New York when I was 8 and have been here ever since. I probably first discovered my love of design when I started browsing Macy’s and looking at clothing tags. I would walk around trying to find ones that had fallen off so I could collect them.
Now, I have to balance my desire to be a minimalist with my urge to collect designer figures, art prints and just about any other object that I come across that I find to be “well-designed”. I did read Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, but I found Fumio Sasaki’s Goodbye Things to really shift my mindset on holding onto things. And to tie it back to design (and life), I enjoy learning new things that shift my perspective. This is something that I do in everyday life and apply it to what I’m working on as well - which is crucial when tackling user problems.
